Shayla Rivera
Aggie Core Values Faculty Fellow College of Engineering
Shayla M. Rivera wants to live in a world where people are encouraged to know themselves deeply, lead with compassion, and stop mistaking perfection for worthiness. She believes leadership begins with awareness, honesty, and the courage to show up as a whole human—especially when it’s uncomfortable. She is a Professor of Practice in the College of Engineering and the Zachry Leadership Program at Texas A&M University, where she has taught for three years. Shayla brings more than three decades of experience facilitating seminars, workshops, and keynote programs across academic, corporate, and professional settings, and has been recognized for her work in leadership development, ethics, communication, and experiential learning. When she’s not teaching, you can find her writing, reflecting, laughing loudly, collecting stories, and reminding students (and herself) that they are far more capable—and far more human—than they’ve been led to believe.Learn more at www.shaylarivera.com.
