Maria Polyzoi wants to live in a world where we teach people how to understand themselves and care for others with the same rigor we teach them to build bridges and balance budgets, as a foundation for both individual happiness and societal cohesion. She is Associate Professor of Practice in Engineering and Student Affairs and Assistant Director of the Zachry Leadership Program at Texas A&M, where she has taught for 6 years. Maria has led study abroad programs connecting students to global perspectives on leadership, and develops curriculum focused on self-awareness, empathy, and holistic leadership development. When Maria is not teaching, you can find her learning something new, making lists (and occasionally checking things off), living the soccer mom life, and dreaming about her next trip to Greece.
