Transfer Students
The Honors Programs promotes the achievement of promising students, including transfer students. One tool for seeking out potential and promoting achievement are scholarships offered to high-achieving students transferring to Texas A&M University from two-year schools in Texas and four-year schools nationwide.
Hazelwood Scholarship
The Hazelwood Scholarship is offered to outstanding students who are transferring to Texas A&M from other four-year colleges and universities. The award is only available to students transferring at the beginning of an academic year (i.e. a fall semester).
Award
The Hazelwood Scholarship is tenable for one year and provides a $1,000 scholarship stipend. Non-resident students who receive the Hazelwood Scholarship are also eligible for a non-resident tuition waiver.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Hazelwood Scholarship, a student must meet the following criteria:

Be transferring from an accredited U.S. four-year college or university

Have completed at least 24 but no more than 70 credit hours of undergraduate course work.

Hold a minimum 3.6 cumulative grade point average on all undergraduate course work

Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Application and Selection Process
Eligible students may apply for the Hazelwood Scholarship by downloading and completing the application. Instructions for completion and submission are included with the application packet. Recipients are selected on the basis of several factors, including rigor and breadth of completed undergraduate course work, extracurricular activities, evidence of leadership, and record of achievement.
The application is available beginning April 1 of each year, with a deadline of July 31. Awards are made on a rolling basis.

Collegiate Excellence Scholarship
The Collegiate Excellence Scholarship is offered to outstanding graduates of accredited two-year colleges in Texas. The award is only available to students transferring at the beginning of an academic year (i.e. a fall semester).

The Collegiate Excellence Scholarship is tenable for one year and provides a $2,000 scholarship stipend. Non-resident students who receive the Collegiate Excellence Scholarship are also eligible for a non-resident tuition waiver.

To be eligible for the Collegiate Excellence Scholarship, a student must meet the following criteria:

Be a graduate of a Texas two-year community or junior college and its honors program (NB: membership in an honors society does not qualify)

Hold a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA in all college coursework

Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
