Scholarships for Currently Enrolled Students


Honors Incentive Award

Each Spring, Texas A&M students who are not recipients of a four-year merit-based scholarship from the Office of Honors Programs and Academic Schoarships and are actively pursuing university-wide honors distinctions are invited to apply for the Honors Incentive Award.


Eligibility:

  • Applicants must have a cumulative Texas A&M University GPR of at least 3.5
  • Applicants cannot hold a four-year academic scholarship from the Office of Honors Programs and Academic Scholarships
  • Freshman applicants must have completed at least three hours of honors coursework by the end of their freshman year, sophomores must have at least six, juniors at least nine, and seniors at least twelve hours
  • Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents
 
Terms:
  • Students who are currently receiving an Honors Incentive Award must reapply to be considered for an award in subsequent undergraduate years
  • The scholarship committee will take into account the rigor of the curriculum as well as the grades received and the student's participation in extracurricular activities
  • Recipients must enroll in at least 12 credit hours during each of the two semesters they hold the award
  • Recipients are expected to progress towards graduation with university-level honors (i.e. Foundation Honors, University Honors, or University Undergraduate Research Fellows)
  • Non-resident (i.e. non-Texan) students who recieve the Honors Incentive Award are eligible for a non-resident tuition waiver
   

Award:

The Honors Incentive Award is for one year and brings a $1,000 scholarship.
