Community
As one of the world's leading research institutions, Texas A&M University is necessarily a big place, and it can be easy for new students to feel alone in the crowd. The Honors Programs office, however, coordinates a number of activities that promote community among Honors students, staff, and faculty, thereby helping academically motivated students find their niche at our campus.
The Honors Programs office builds a community that unites people of great potential for growth and achievement. Integral to this process is the concept of intellectual community, a community comprised not only of students, but also Honors Programs advisors, Honors faculty, as well as parents, guardians, and former students. Together, these stakeholders create a network of support that promotes academic achievement, intellectual inquiry, social responsibility, self-examination, and, in general, a fellowship of like-minded individuals.
Our community is defined by a number of events throughout the year, our Honors Housing Community, and our highly active student groups.
