Joint Admission Medical Program

Image PlaceHolder

In 2001, the Texas Legislature established the Joint Admission Medical Program (JAMP) with the purpose of providing support and encouragement to highly qualified, economically disadvantaged, Texas students pursuing medical school.  This is accomplished by awarding undergraduate and medical school scholarships, summer internships, MCAT preparation and application guidance.

Students typically apply during the summer between their freshman and sophomore years.  To qualify to apply for JAMP, you must be a resident of the State of Texas, make a minimum score on the SAT or ACT, and be considered financially disadvantaged.

To find out more about this program visit the Texas JAMP website, download the JAMP Handout, and / or contact the TAMU JAMP Faculty Director, Dr. Anne Blum, in the OPGSA.
