Application Procedures for National ScholarshipsMany National Scholarships require that applicants first be endorsed by their university before they can apply. The following table provides
Rhodes, Marshall, and Mitchell ScholarshipApplicants must complete a preliminary application consisting of a 1,000-word personal statement, a two-page resume, and a list of five to eight individuals who have agreed to compose a letter of recommendation on the applicant's behalf.
The application will then be reviewed by a committee; qualified students will then be offered provisional nomination. Official endorsement is declared once the applicant has submitted a completed application to the foundation(s).
Completed applications should be delivered to the Honors Programs office, c/o Kyle Mox. Next campus deadline: TBD
Goldwater ScholarshipApplicants must complete the online application, available at http://www.act.org/goldwater/ and submit a two-age essay, an unofficial TAMU transcript, and three to five letters of recommendation. Truman ScholarshipApplicants must complete a preliminary application, which consists of a 1,000-word personal statement that describes one's academic interests, career goals, and public service experience. The preliminary application will also include a one or two page resume and a list of three individuals who have agreed to compose a letter of recommendation on behalf of the applicant. Of the three letters, one must be on "leadership," another on "intellect," and the third on "prospects for a continuing career in public service."
