Texas A&M University is renowned for its highly motivated students and faculty as well as its world class research facilities, and it has long been recognized for the strength of its undergraduate programs.

One of the core missions of the Honors Programs is to create a learner-centered community that attracts excellent students and provides quality learning and mentoring experiences. We prepare learners for lives of discovery, innovation, leadership, and citizenship, and we provide opportunities for intellectual exchange between distinguished faculty and undergraduates.

In particular, the Honors Programs promote undergraduate research and independent scholarly work, with the intention that our graduates will benefit from the critical thinking skills that such activities develop and that Honors students will be responsive to the changing realities of the future that awaits us.

The Honors Programs coordinates the most prestigious undergraduate research program at Texas A&M, the University Undergraduate Research Fellows program. In addition, Honors Programs works closely with the Office of Undergraduate Research and Explorations: The Journal of Undergraduate Research. Honors advisors can also help students find and evaluate numerous summer research programs.
