LAUNCH: Undergraduate Research provides a variety of informationals, workshops, and programs to undergraduate and graduate students alike. In addition to the presentations described below we can provide speakers through our Undergraduate Research Ambassadors program for interested student organizations or university events. Getting Started in Research Workshop
In this workshop students will be introduced to the opportunities and benefits of being involved in undergraduate research. The workshop will cover expectations, strategies for finding faculty mentors, and resources available at A&M. Current undergraduate research students will describe their experiences and provide advice on the most effective strategies for getting started. Register at http://ers.tamu.edu.

Undergraduate Research Scholars (URS) Informational Sessions
This presentation introduces the Undergraduate Research Scholars program to students and includes the requirements to join and complete the program, suggestions for ensuring success, and examples of previous Scholars’ theses. Finding a Summer Internship or Research Position
This panel discussion, organized jointly by LAUNCH and the Career Center, will introduce students to the benefits of participating in a summer research or internship program. A panel of students with summer program experience will provide advice on how to find opportunities, build a strong application, and how to get the most out of summer internships.

For Graduate Students

Mentoring Undergraduates Researchers: A Workshop for Graduate Students.
A panel of graduate student mentors will talk about their experiences and work with participants to help develop strategies for transforming a novice into a productive undergraduate researcher. Topics include successful work and meeting schedules, keeping students motivated, responsibilities of graduate student mentors, passing on research ethics and conventions of the discipline, and strategies for dealing with common problems.
