Participation:  The programmatic goals of the Century Scholars Program are to develop scholars academically and holistically. Partial or non-participation in the programmatic aspects of the Century Scholars Program will result in progressive consequences. The Century Scholars Program Coordinator monitors the involvement of Century Scholars each semester. An additional infraction of partial or non-participation will result in suspension, and the forfeiture of payment for the following semester. Students on suspension or probation due to grades or hours are still expected to complete their participation requirements should they wish to earn back their scholarship.

RESOURCES

Century Scholars Handbook: Please take a look at the Century Scholars Handbook for more details about the program and requirements. All Century Scholars are responsible for knowing the requirements of the program found in the handbook and on this website.

Community Service Form: Century Scholars are required to complete 5 hours of community service each semester, except for the spring semester of their senior year. Download the community service form here. This form is due to the front desk of Henderson Hall in the first floor lobby each semester. Thoroughly read the first page of the form to understand the deadlines and requirements.

Ambassador Visit: Century Scholars may choose to conduct ambassador visits to their former high schools in lieu of doing community service. One (1) ambassador visit may account for five (5) community service hours, so long as the Century Scholar participated in Ambassador Training PRIOR to the ambassador visits. Students must also complete the Ambassadors Form to document the visit. Click here to submit the Ambassador Form.

Ambassador Training: If you would like to be trained to conduct an ambassador visit, click here to sign up for a training time. Trainings will be offered at various times throughout the semester, so check back to see if new times have been added.

Learning Community:  Century Scholars are required to participate in all the requirements listed above as their learning community. The main goal of the Century Scholars Learning Community is to provide a learning, service-oriented, and social environment for the growth of the learning community, as well as its individuals. It has been designed to help students achieve academic and personal success, discover campus involvement, and explore community engagement and civic responsibility. Most importantly, the Century Scholars Learning Community is meant to strengthen the connections that Century Scholars have with each other and with the campus community.

Academic:  The Century Scholars Program requires students to maintain a minimum cumulative GPR of 2.75, be enrolled full-time at Texas A&M University, meet the 30/60/90 hour rule, and not be on conduct probation. Some Century Scholars may be required to send thank you letters to donors. These requirements are tracked by Scholarships & Financial Aid.
