Procedure:
Registration start times
Honors Early Registration for Spring 2009 will begin Thursday,
November 13 at 5:00 AM. Registration times will be e-mailed
to students' TAMU accounts. Students eligible for Honors Early Registration
will be assigned two start times: 1) an Honors Early Registration
time and 2) an alternate (or "regular") start time. The Honors Early Registration time may only be used by students who are registering
for a regularly-scheduled Honors course (i.e. non-Honors courses for which the student intends an Honors Course Contract do not apply); students not registering for an
Honors course should use the alternate start time.
| |
Honors credit limits
To use Honors Early Registration, students must register for at least one regulary-scheduled Honors course. During Honors preregistration, students may register for up to seven credit hours of Honors course work. Students may later register for up to nine credit hours of Honors course work once open registration begins. |
| |
Improper use of Honors Early Registration
The use of Honors Early Registration will be permanently revoked for students who
use Honors Early Registration but are not enrolled in an Honors course in the subsequent semester.
The same consequence is in place for students who use Honors Early Registration to hold a seat
in any class (Honors or not) for another student, who openly telegraph their intent to misuse Honors Early Registration, or who register for an Honors course that they have already taken, are not qualified to take, or obviously have no intention of taking. If intentional misuse of
Honors Early Registration is discovered the Honors Programs office will drop the student's schedule and notify him or her by email.
| |
Registration forces
To be forced into an Honors course that has no seats available, an official University add/drop form signed by the head (or designee) of the department offering the course must be delivered in person to the Honors Programs, Henderson Hall. Once regular or open registration begins, the department may force the student into the course.
| |
GPR verification
Students who, after registering for Honors courses, do not maintain the required GPR, 3.5 or higher will be dropped from their Honors courses prior to the start of the following semester. Students who wish to apply for a one-semester Honors Eligibility Waiver should contact the Honors Programs office after they receive notice of their deficiency.
