Lechner Hall
Holders of major academic scholarships
awarded by the Office of Honors Programs and Academic Scholarships are assured
on-campus housing as part of their scholarship package. These scholarship
recipients, who are also eligible for participation in the University Honors
Program, may request placement in Lechner Honors Residence Hall.
General information regarding residence halls may be found here.

A northside modular-style hall, Lechner, houses men and women on alternate
floors. The hall is affiliated with the University Honors Program and involves
Honors staff and faculty in hall activities. Eligible freshmen requesting
placement in the hall are assigned by the Office of Honors Programs and
Academic Scholarships in the order in which they accept their scholarships
until Lechner is full. Interested students should
follow regular housing application procedures but should not list Lechner
as a hall choice. When scholarship offers are made at the beginning
of March, the Honors Office will ask scholarship recipients for their hall
preferences. After their freshman year, Lechner residents will move to other
halls, but a number of places in the hall are reserved for sophomore mentors.

| Former Lechner Hall Director, Ken Gassiot, gets a dunking outside of the Memorial Student Center. The dunking booth was set up as part of "Safe Spring Break" presented by the Alcohol and Drug Education Program to promote responsible behavior during the holiday. | For more information about Lechner Hall, please contact Kurt Ritter, Associate Director for Honors, at 845-1957. |
