Our Mission

Honors and Undergraduate Research provides high-impact educational experiences and challenges students in all academic disciplines to graduate from an enriched, intellectually-stimulating curriculum.

The programs administered by the office engage outstanding students and faculty in a community of knowledge-producers, life-long learners, nationally-recognized scholars, and world citizens. Through Honors and Undergraduate Research, motivated students have access to Honors courses, co-curricular enrichment activities, and research programs that can be customized to enhance each student’s personal, professional, and intellectual development.

About Honors and Undergraduate Research

A division of Undergraduate Studies, Honors and Undergraduate Research exists to serve students at Texas A&M who wish to get more out of their education and who are naturally curious, innately creative, and seek self-awareness. Students in the University Honors Program enjoy smaller classes led by accomplished faculty who present the course materials in innovative, sophisticated ways. Honors students also enjoy the comraderie of the Honors Community, and many reside in the Honors Housing Community. Additionally, Honors students have access to in-depth, individualized advising that can help them to become better prepared for graduate or professional school, prestigious fellowship competitions, or the workplace.

Honors and Undergraduate Research also provides opportunities for motivated students who seek independent research and scholarly activities at Texas A&M, including the Undergraduate Research Scholars program.
